The Quay County Commission on Friday approved the purchase of two law enforcement vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Clay Huffman presented the request for the purchase of two Dodge Chargers (2009 and 2012) for $11,000 each.
The Chargers will be replacing two vehicles that have high mileage.
Commissioners approved the application for $372,000 in grant funding for county fire districts.
County Fire Marshal Donald Adams presented the grant application to the commission that will be used for purchase and repairs to equipment.
The fire districts applying for the grants were: Bard-Endee, $72,000; District 1, $100,000; Quay, $100,000; and Forrest, $100,000.
Commissioners also approved a building addition to the Bard-Endee fire station.
In other business, commissioners:
• Approved resolution 3 ACT Support for the Work Ready Communities, a partnership with the Greater Tucumcari Economic Development Corp., Mesalands Community College, Tucumcari Public Schools and City of Tucumcari to seek funding to develop a work for solutions training center. The center would help to train existing workforce in the area.
• Approved the adoption of the Infrastructure/Capital Improvement Plan.
