Global warming, global impact

In Paris the world leaders agreed that global warming was real and presented a menace to our civilization as we know it. In scientific circles the debate ended long ago.

Addressing this situation will take cooperation, lots of it, or we will fail. The cost of failure will be beyond our imagination and will permanently change our civilization and planet. This is beyond politics, it is not liberal, conservative, Democrat or Republican, it is survival.

The Senate has already voted to scuttle the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Air Plan, which is strategic to limiting emissions. The Republican congress has vowed to block any climate legislation and rescind any laws already in place. Mitch McConnell said the Paris agreement "is subject to being shredded in 13 months." He also said Clean Air was" waging war on coal."

Two large organizations oppose addressing the crisis, National Association of Manufacturers and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Those that oppose place their interest above the future of our civilization .

There is not much business being conducted on any planet but ours.

Exxon-Mobil is one of several corporations that previously denied any connection between fossil fuel use and global warming that are now changing their stance. They realize the future is clean energy and they are going to be in on the ground floor.

The only special interest that can be in this, is civilization.
