Mesalands will offer a robotics building class

Mesalands Community College’s spring 2016 Community Education Department will a variety of classes, including the exploration of the world of robotics and the building of robotic devices.

The robotics class is part of the on-going enrollment of the Robotics Club, which is taught by client support manager Michael Bilopavlovich, said Mesalands spokeswoman Kimberly Hanna.

Hanna said students pay $15 per semester to be a part of this class that includes students of all ages. She said students enter the world of robotics and build robotic devices in a fun and rewarding way.

Hanna also said that new this year are classes aimed at helping residents prepare for future employment.

Mesalands has added a Career Services Center that provides the following services for students: assistance with career guidance, résumé and cover letter critiques, job search strategies, interview preparation and career expos.

Residents can take advantage of this service on April 25 and learn the steps to creating an effective resume, discover new career opportunities on April 26, and on April 27, they can learn how to positively present oneself at a job interview. These classes are free of charge, Hanna added.

Other spring community education classes include, a writing workshop aimed at helping students unlock their creative writing ability. There is no charge for this class.

Community members may also study herbs and their natural healing properties to create herbal tinctures on April 26 and April 28. The cost of this class is $30.
