San Jon High School’s Class of 2016

Riley Young plans to attend New Mexico State University after graduation.

Who has been your best friend in high school and how did you meet them?

My best friend in high school has been Rylee Key. I met her in fifth grade when I moved here.

What makes you proud to go to school at SJS?

I am proud to say I am salutatorian of our class. I love the school spirit we have here at San Jon.

Jose Ortega plans on joining the Marines and train in diesel mechanics.

What was your favorite thing about high school and why?

My classmates! We get along with each other really well and always have fun.

What do you usually do after school?

I have an after school job.

Ashlond Sells plans to attend college to become an elementary teacher.

What did you think high school was going to be like when you were a freshman and how did it differ from your expectations?

When I was a freshman I thought senior year would be a breeze, but it has actually been very stressful.

What was the most fun you ever had in a class?

Painting in I and E with Mrs. Gates

Rylee Key plans to attend West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. She has not completely decided on a career path yet, but is leaning toward counseling.

When high school was overwhelming, what kept you going?

My mom, Stacy. She never let me give up, even when there were times when that’s all I wanted to do.

If you could have any career that you wanted, what would it be?

If I could pick a dream career, I would be a professional traveler.
