Sen. Pat Woods reappointed to legislative committees

Staff Report

SANTA FE -- State Sen. Pat Woods, R-Broadview, has been reappointed to serve as a voting member on three legislative committees during the interim when the Legislature is not in session.

Woods was reappointed to serve on the Economic and Rural Development Committee, the Water and Natural Resources Committee and the Jobs Council.

Woods was also reappointed as an advisory member on three additional committees: the Legislative Education Study Committee, Public School Capital Outlay Oversight Task Force and Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee.

During the interim, the committees examine the effectiveness of state government, including the operations of all state departments and agencies, and how they can be improved to serve the citizens of New Mexico. The committees also consider proposed legislation for endorsement.

Legislative Council, which comprises the leadership of both the Senate and House as well as additional legislators, made the appointments this week in Santa Fe.

When the Legislature is in session, Woods serves on the Senate Conservation Committee and the Senate Education Committee.

Woods represents District 7, which includes Curry, Quay, and Union Counties.
