City approves purchase of ambulance

The Tucumcari City Commission has approved the purchase of a new ambulance for the EMS and Commissioner Ralph Moya called for a closer look at the funding to see if Quay County could contribute more money.

“We serve a large area including the county residents outside the city,” Moya said. “I would like to see if it is possible to receive more assistance from the county to cover the cost of operating and maintenance of the ambulance services.

In other business, commissioners:

• Presented a proclamation to Ryan Arave and Calvin Preisler, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their service to the community.

• Approved the reuse of the line items dispatch funds and joint utilities funds as code enforcement funds and new capital infrastructure tax and expenditures.

• Approved the commitment of money from the general fund to an emergency reserve.

• Approved senior programs agreement for $276,786, of which the city pays $86,114 for senior meals programs and services in the city.

• Approved the Lodger’s Tax Engagement letter for audit.

• Approved the 2016 audit contract for $42,875.

• Approved an extension of legal services with Miller Stratvert P.A. for $4,200 a year.

• Approved a contract with Ricoh-USA for copy services.

• Approved an amendment to the engineering service contract with Forsgren Association Inc., for the Metro Well Field Transmission Line Project.
