Local 4-H team qualifies to compete at Nationals

The Quay County 4-H Home Economics Bowl Team took first place at the annual 4-H State Conference and will represent New Mexico during the national competition which will be held in Denver, Colorado, in January.

Fourteen Quay County 4-H members competed at the state conference Friday and Saturday at Las Cruces, said Brenda Bishop, Quay County extension service program director.

Members of the Home Economics Bowl Team are Reagan Runyan, Trestin Peterson, Shaylee Moon, and Rebecca Rush.

Bishop said Runyan was high-point individual finisher for the Home Economics Skill-a-thon contest and the team placed third with members Trestin Peterson, Tianna Peterson and Moon.
