Walk event scheduled for Tuesday

Staff report The Quay County Health Council hopes to get the school year off to a fit and moving start Tuesday evening with its Back to School Party for Tucumcari Public School students and their families. The event, which will take place at the Tucumcari Fitness Complex across Gamble Avenue from the Tucumcari High School Auditorium, will feature walking along a fitness path and different forms of exercise at activity stations along the way, according to a Health Council flyer. Students, families, friends and neighbors are invited to come and start walking at 7 p.m. Tuesday, the Health Council flyer said. The event will continue until 8 p.m. In addition, snacks, music and a free book, “The Mind in the Making,” willbe available free.

“We encourage everyone to come out, get 'The Mind in the Making,' and have a great time,” Alida Brown, Health Council coordinator, said.
