Quay reporter honored by press association

SANTA ANA PUEBLO — Quay County Sun Senior Writer Thomas Garcia was honored by New Mexico Press Association during its annual awards presentations on Saturday.

Garcia won a first-place honor for a rodeo picture in the sports photo category. The photo featured Ed Miles Harvey on a bucking bronc at a Mesalands Community College rodeo.

Garcia has been with the newspaper since 2006.

The annual contest was judged by the Utah Press Association.
