• Claude Moncus and Bert Jennings were two of the candidates for Democratic nomination for Quay County Sheriff.
• G. M. Benson, Forrest Currell, Tom McCart, R. O. Sandusky, Walt Sullins and Ed Hadley were elected members of the board of directors of the Tucumcari Rotary Club.
• After 16 years of service in the courthouse, Irene Kearns resigned as district court clerk for a position the Arch Hurley Conservancy district.
• F. E. Atkinson, Conchas District Scout executive, was the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Lions club at the Hotel Randle coffee shop.
