• Saturday — 5K Fun Run & Walk. This 8 a.m. event is family-friendly, with free entry and a free T-shirt for finishing. Registration will be from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. The 3.1-mile Fun Run is hosted by the Quay County Health Council & Quay County Extension Service. Call 575-461-0562 for more information. It starts and ends at Damon Kvols Park, Tucumcari.

• Saturday — Enchilada Dinners. Join Center Street United Methodist Church for its annual enchilada dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For take-out orders, call 575-461-2661. Cost for adults is $9; children is $6. 406 E. Center St., Tucumcari.

• Saturday-Sunday — Logan Open Bass Tournament. Call Deanna Osborn at 575-487-2698 for more information. Ute Lake State Park.

• Oct. 12-13 — 11th annual Mesalands Community College Grand Canyon Region Intercollegiate Fall Rodeo. The rodeo begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 12. Slack will begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 13 (with no charge), and the championship performance begins at 6 p.m. that day. Quay County Fairgrounds, Tucumcari.

• Oct. 20 — Altrusa “Boo-Bash” Cash Party. Altrusa International of Tucumcari will host the reverse raffle beginning at 6 p.m. The Halloween dance and costume contest will follow at 8 p.m. Proceeds will be used to fund a variety of Altrusa community service projects throughout the year. • Oct. 20 — Tucumcari Ranch Supply Lot Party. Home businesses, crafters, organizations and groups who need a venue for fundraising, this is for you. Those interested in having a free table should call 575-461-9620. Lot party is from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 502 S. Lake St., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 28 — Tip Top Bass Tournament. Call Donny McWhirter at 806-333-3116. Ute Lake State Park.

• Nov. 16 — Route 66 Women: Untold Stories of the Mother Road. Join The Gallery Etc. and the New Mexico Humanities Council for this presentation at 6 p.m. The Gallery Etc., 201 S. Second St., Tucumcari.

• Nov. 17 — Denim & Diamonds. Join Tucumcari MainStreet for an evening out. Enjoy a steak dinner and dancing to the music of the Buster Bledsoe Band. Meet the Tucumcari MainStreet business community and enjoy a silent auction. From 6 to 10 p.m. Ticket prices are $35 per person, $250 for a table of eight, or $320 for a table of 10. Tucumcari Convention Center.
