• Saturday — Welcome Home Veterans / Pearl Harbor Day. The event will honor all veterans from World War II to the global war on terrorism and their families with a meal at noon. The guest speaker will be guest Brig. Gen. Miguel Aguilar. VFW Post 2528 and Auxiliary, 105 E. Main St., Tucumcari.

• Saturday — 2018 Quay County Legislative Forum. Join state Sen. Pat Woods, state Rep. Jack Chatfield and PRC Commissioner Jeff Byrd at 3 p.m. as they discuss the upcoming legislative session. Tucumcari Convention Center.

• Dec. 14 — Christmas Cantata. The annual Christmas event will be at 7 p.m. at the Center Street United Methodist Church. Admission is free, and a reception will follow. Please bring your family to enjoy the music and atmosphere of the season. Center Street United Methodist Church, 406 E. Center St., Tucumcari.

• Dec. 15 — Beginning Farmer and Landowner Training. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., join the Quay County Land Access and Mentorship program to learn about different agriculture and ranching topics, including mentoring beginning farmers, farm and ranch business planning, small-scale vegetable production and landowner agreements. Cost is $10; lunch is provided. Quay County Fairgrounds, Tucumcari.

• Dec. 16 — Christmas Dinner and Dance. Join the Knights of Columbus Council 6937 for its Christmas Raffle Dinner & Dance. Only 300 tickets will be sold, with the Grand Prize winner taking home $5,000. Even if you don't win, you still get a night of dinner and dancing. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Ticket price is $100 for two people, with dinner and dance included. Tickets can be purchased from any Knights of Columbus member. You need not be present to win. Tucumcari Convention Center.
