Water leak shuts down ER door

A water leak in a ceiling forced the temporary closing of Daniel Trigg Memorial Hospital's emergency-room entrance for at least two days.

The leak developed in the ceiling above the emergency room about 8 a.m. Monday, causing one or two ceiling tiles to fall, said Joy Goode, a nursing/ED tech stationed at the Tucumcari hospital's main entrance.

Emergency-care patients are being asked to use the main entrance on the hospital's south side while the leak is being repaired, she said. She said hospital officials expect repairs to be finished by Wednesday.

No injuries were reported.
