Logan boys dominate Clovis Christian

The Logan boys basketball team began its district schedule Saturday night with a 75-23 drubbing of Clovis Christian.

The Longhorns led 49-14 at halftime, including a 22-2 run in the second quarter.

Dyson Day and Dante Sanchez each scored 16 points to lead Logan.

Logan improved to 13-4. Clovis Christian fell to 3-9 and 0-2 in district.

Logan 60, Dora 47

Logan jumped to a 22-10 lead in the first quarter and made it stand up during 60-47 victory Thursday over visiting Dora.

Day led the Longhorns with 19 points, while Chase Earle added 11.

Dora fell to 7-7.

Grady 63, Roy/Mosquero 54

A balanced scoring attack led Grady to a 63-54 victory Thursday over Roy/Mosquero at San Jon.

Chisum Rush led the Bronchos (4-10) with 17 points. Close behind were Isaiah Mitchell (14 points), Chad Becerra (13) and Dustin Bryant (11).

Grady led 34-20 at halftime.

Roy/Mosquero fell to 3-6 overall.

Gateway Christian 53, Grady 52

The Bronchos mounted a fourth-quarter comeback but fell short during a 53-52 loss Jan. 15 against Gateway Christian.

Grady trailed 41-34 to begin the final period and outscored the Warriors 18-12 the rest of the way.

“We had turnovers and missed shots late in the game,” Bronchos coach Jonathan Langan said. “We had an opportunity at the end to tie, and instead of taking a three, we settled for a two.”

Rush led Grady with 18 points, while Mitchell added 11.

Gateway Christian improved to 7-4.
