Customer service training offered

Just in time for the beginning of tourist season, Quay County Extension Service, Tucumcari-Quay County Chamber of Commerce and Tucumcari Economic Development Corp. are holding a customer-service training workshop Feb. 27 for frontline employees.

“We are using the new customer service training recently completed by NMSU’s School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management and the Cooperative Extension Service. ‘New Mexico True Hospitality’ uses the latest in customer-service training tools and incorporates a New Mexico flavor,” said Brenda Bishop, Quay County Extension program director and Family Consumer Science agent.

New Mexico True Hospitality is an interactive seminar designed to equip tourism industry employees and job seekers with the knowledge, skills and attitude to provide high-quality customer service.

The free workshop will be offered twice Feb. 27. The times are from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. The Liberty Room at the Tucumcari Convention Center at 1500 W. Route 66 Blvd. will be the site.
