Poetry readings coming back

The Gallery Etc. is bringing poetry readings back to Tucumcari after a hiatus of more than three years and invites creative writers to register for a chance to read their works to an audience.

The readings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. March 2 at The Gallery Etc. at 201 S. Second St. for those who register on or before Feb. 28.

Jake Walker, a local actor, poet and songwriter, will host the reading, and Levi Mericle, a published Tucumcari poet, will be a featured reader, according to an event flyer.

Light refreshments will be served.

Readers can register at the gallery. The gallery is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There is a $2 charge for readers to be paid at registration. Admission to the event is free, but donations are appreciated, according to the flyer.

The Gallery Etc. requests readers refrain from profanity or vulgarity in the works they read.

The most recent reading at the gallery was in November 2015.
