Senior safety training on offer

The Quay County Falls Prevention Network is offering free Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths and Injuries training, or STEADI, on Saturday for people who work with our senior-citizen population and the medical community.

Participants will receive a tool kit that will provide screening tools for fall risk, including strength and balance. They will learn effective communication strategies to discuss the issue of falls with older adults.

The instructor will be Janet Popp of Albuquerque. A light breakfast will be provided. The training will be from 8:30 to noon Saturday at Mesalands Community College in Building A, Room 223.
