Calendar - June 12

• Friday — Groundwater Workshop. The Ute Creek and Mesa Soil and Water Conservation District will host speakers and field demonstrations on how residents of the region can measure static well-water levels. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch provided. Mosquero Schools Multipurpose Room, Mosquero.

• Monday — Quay County Democratic Party meeting. The organization meets the third Monday of each month at noon at the Pow Wow Restaurant meeting room. Meetings are open to the public, and it encourages anyone who is interested to join in. Pow Wow Restaurant, 801 W. Route 66, Tucumcari.

• Tuesday — Republican Party of Quay County meeting. Meetings fall on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn in Tucumcari. 3716 E. Tucumcari Blvd., Tucumcari.

• June 27-30 — Rockin’ Route 66. The festival will be packed live entertainment, a classic-car and hot-rod show, vintage and hand-built motorcycle show, pinup contest and fashion show, a cruise-in down Route 66, Taste of New Mexico, carnie side show, Kustom Kulture artists and builders, celebrity guests, Black Collar Markette and more. Along Route 66 in Tucumcari.

• July 5-6 — Fourth of July Street Dance. It will feature raffle prizes, watermelon crawl, games, fireworks, live music and more. 7 to 11 p.m. July 5. Parade at 10 a.m. July 6, with watermelon crawl from 1 to 4 p.m. at the ballfield. Ute Lake State Park, Logan.

• July 13 — Tucumcari Farmers Market. Get the freshest locally grown produce possible at the Tucumcari farmers market from 10 am to noon. EBT credits applicable. The farmers market also is held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each Tuesday. Wailes Park, 1600 E. Tucumcari Blvd., Tucumcari.

• July 19-20 — Quay County Horse Show. The 57th annual New Mexico State 4-H Horse Show and Quay County Ranch Horse Versatility will be at the Quay County Fairgrounds. The Friday session begins at 4 p.m., with the Saturday session beginning at 7 a.m. It will feature Halter class, Trail, English, Western riding and Reining classes. Quay County Fairgrounds.

• July 20 — Route 66 and Railroad Day. It's a day of free admission at the Tucumcari Historical Museum. This special day will focus on Route 66 businesses, past and present, and local railroad history. Tucumcari Historical Museum, 416 S. Adams St.

• July 26-27 — Quay County Rodeo. Concessions will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m. each day. The rodeo starts at 5 p.m.. Schedule: rough stock, barrels, poles, goat roping and roping events. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children, with programs costing $1 each. Quay County Fairgrounds.

• Aug. 10 — “Patriotic Day.” The Tucumcari Historical Museum invites you to join this celebration in remembrance of the military and veterans. There will be special guest speakers and fun for everyone. Tucumcari Historical Museum, 416 S. Adams St.
