• Friday-Saturday — 12th annual Mesalands Community College Grand Canyon Region Intercollegiate Fall Rodeo. The first day of the rodeo begins at 6 p.m. Friday. Slack performances will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, with the championship performances later that day at 6 p.m. Quay County Fairgrounds, Tucumcari.

• Saturday — Fossil Day Festival. The Mesalands Community College’s Dinosaur Museum and Natural Sciences Laboratory will offer free admission from noon to 5 p.m. Participate in paleontology demonstrations and dig for dinosaur fossils. • Saturday — Fall Lot Party. Tucumcari Ranch Supply will host local vendors such as Cigar Band Crafts, Barefoot Krafts, 31 Bags and more. The event from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. will feature live music, food, face painting and family-friendly events. 502 S. Lake St., Tucumcari.

• Saturday — Buried Secrets Paranormal. Join KTNM/KQAY at the Tucumcari Historical Museum for night of spooks and spectacle. The Buried Secrets Paranormal team will perform an investigation from 6 to 10 p.m. A ghost or two are rumored to haunt the halls. A donation of $20 per person will earn the chance to attend this hands-on investigation with EMF detectors, audio recorders, dowsing rods and more. • Tuesday — Republican Party of Quay County meeting. Meetings fall on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn in Tucumcari. 3716 E. Tucumcari Blvd., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 16 — New Mexico MainStreet Leadership Network Meeting. The meeting from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. will focus on Economic Vitality — the “Roadmap to Revitalization” of the Main Street Four-Point Approach. You will learn tricks and tips for creating a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies. Tucumcari MainStreet, 100 W. Railroad Ave., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 17 — “Almost Ghosts” screening. See a 7 p.m. screening of “Almost Ghosts,” a documentary from Spain that explores near-ghost towns of Route 66. The screening will be at the Odeon Theatre, the longest-running theater in New Mexico. Pizza will be sold before the screening, along with the theater’s usual assortment of food from its concession stand. Revenue eventually will help restore the theater’s neon lighting and façade. 123 S. Second St., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 19 — Boo-Bash Cash Party. Get ready for a scary good time at Altrusa International of Tucumcari’s annual event at 6 p.m., with the Halloween dance and costume contest will follow at 8 p.m. Tickets are $100 for the chance to win $15,000. Proceeds of this event will be used to fund a variety of Altrusa community service projects throughout the year. Tucumcari Convention Center.

• Oct. 19 — Cuarenta y Cinco show. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show runs from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, if available. Concertgoers must be 21 years old with a valid ID. Tucumcari Columbus Club, 202 E. Main St., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 19-20 — Shootout at Six Shooter Siding. This 54-hole Professional Disc Golf Tournament will be Robert Lumpkin Memorial Disc Golf Course. It includes $300 added cash to the professional purse, and the first 50 amateur players will receive an event-stamped Prodigy disc. Five Mile Park, Tucumcari.

• Oct. 21 — Quay County Democratic Party meeting. The organization meets the third Monday of each month at noon at the Pow Wow Restaurant meeting room. Meetings are open to the public, and it encourages anyone who is interested to join. Pow Wow Restaurant, 801 W. Route 66, Tucumcari.

• Oct. 25 — CYFD Trunk or Treat. CYFD is partnering with local law-enforcement agencies and community partners to make this a spooktacular time from 4 to 6 p.m. All participants must enter at the start table to be entered to win a door prize. 107 W. Aber St., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 26 — Sing for Your Supper Bike Night. Between 6 and 9 p.m., bring a motorcycle to Cornerstone’s First Edition and park in front for a 5% discount on an entree. Anyone who wears a Cornerstone patch gets another 5% off an entrée. During that time, the restaurant also host a Karaoke Sing for Your Supper night. Sing your favorite and see whether you can win a discount or a complimentary meal at Cornerstone’s. 711 E. Route 66 Blvd., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 31 — Festival of Fright. Visit the haunted Mesalands Dinosaur Museum. This event will feature trunk or treating, candy, fun and scares for all ages. The children’s haunted house will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and the adult haunted house from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 per person or $3 with a costume. Trunk or treat is free. Mesalands Dinosaur Museum, 222 E. Laughlin Avenue, Tucumcari.

• Oct. 31 — Trunk or Treat. This free event will be in the First Baptist Church parking lot from 6 to 8 p.m. 321 E. Center St., Tucumcari.

• Nov. 9-10 — 49th annual Craft Fair. Get ready to do Christmas shopping with local and regional vendors. More information will be coming soon. Quay County Fairgrounds, Tucumcari.

• Nov. 16 — Denim and Diamonds. Join everyone for a dinner and dance with the Buster Bledsoe Band, along with a silent auction, for the annual Tucumcari MainStreet fundraising gala from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $35 each; a table of eight is $250 or a table of 10 is $320. Tucumcari Convention Center.

• Nov. 23 — Christmas Raffle Dinner and Dance. Christmas might come a little early if you win the Christmas raffle by the Tucumcari Columbus Club. Tickets are $50 per person for dinner and dancing; they are available from any Knights of Columbus member. The grand prize is $5,000 in cash, with eight other cash-prize drawings. The event runs from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tucumcari Convention Center.

• Nov. 30 — Christmas at the Depot. Join in on a Christmas tree lighting event at the historic Tucumcari Railroad Depot from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Other details will be announced later. 100 W. Railroad Ave., Tucumcari.
