Masked Del's Restaurant employees Malachi Anaya and Tami Elam take a to-go order from Kristy Krellin Frame of Albuquerque on Thursday. The governor required all restaurant employees to begin wearing masks Wednesday, but several Tucumcari eateries expressed confusion or ignorance about the mandate.
A random check of Tucumcari restaurants along the Route 66 corridor at lunchtime Thursday found employees at six of seven restaurants weren't following the governor's day-old mandate to wear protective masks against the coronavirus pandemic.
