Four coronavirus cases reported Sunday in county

The New Mexico Department of Health on Sunday reported four confirmed cases of coronavirus in Quay County, all in the Tucumcari ZIP code.

The age breakdown of the latest cases in the county one age 20 to 29, two age 30 to 39 and one age 50 to 59. Two men and two women were infected.

A total of 123 cases have been reported in the county in November – more than half of the pandemic's total.

The total number of cases in the county since the pandemic began rose to 230, with four deaths. A total of 80 people have been deemed by the state as recovered from the virus.

The latest breakdown by ZIP code since the pandemic began is 166 in Tucumcari, 45 in Logan, six in San Jon, six in House, four in McAlister, one in Nara Visa, one in Bard and one in Grady (part of which extends into the county).

In the state, the DOH on Sunday reported 1,443 cases. The total number in New Mexico since the pandemic reached nearly 95,000.

A total of 356 cases were reported in Bernalillo County, with 167 in Dona Ana County.

A total of 13 deaths were reported Sunday in the state, raising the total to 1,540.

A total of 919 people in the state were hospitalized with the disease Sunday, an increase of more than 60 from Saturday.

In the U.S., more than 13.3 million confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported through Sunday since the pandemic began, with more than 266,000 deaths.
