• Friday — Fired Up Friday. The final Fired Up Friday will feature a fiery performance at 8 p.m. by Odd Lab, a mainstay of previous Fired Up festivals, with children’s workshops. Food trucks will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until the food runs out. Tucumcari Historic Railroad Plaza at Second and Main streets.

• Saturday — End of Summer Fun Run. Ride begins at 1 p.m., with free hot dogs, chips and games offered. For more information, contact Steve at (575) 403-6276 or Chris at (575) 403-7710. VFW Post 2528, 105 E. Main St., Tucumcari.

• Oct. 2 — Quay County Health Council 5K Fun Run/Walk. The 3.1-mile free event begins at 8 a.m. on a roughly circular and marked course. T-shirts will be offered to all finishers. A new walker or senior ctizen half-course of 1.5 miles also will be offered. Those interested will be driven to the halfway point to begin their walk on the regular course. The council also is offering a virtual event for those who don’t live in the county or who are not ready to be in a crowded area. Signup for the virtual event is here — — and can be done anytime between Oct. 1 and Oct. 10. The virtual event is free, but for participants who want an event shirt mailed, it will cost $10. Registration for the in-person event will be on site from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. Damon Kvols Park at Route 66 and Sixth Street, Tucumcari.

• Oct. 23 — 44th annual Boo Bash. The Altrusa International of Tucumcari’s fundraiser will be broadcast live on Facebook at 3 p.m., with a top prize of $15,000 in cash. Ticket sales benefit Altrusa community projects. Tickets, which cost $100, are available from Altrusa members, messaging the club at or contacting ticket chairwoman Sylvia Wampler at (575) 403-8405.
