Longhorns blast Melrose in baseball

The Longhorns cruised to an 11-1 district victory on April 18 at Melrose in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

Logan scored in four of its five innings, including five in the finale to secure the victory.

Longhorns starting pitcher Kaeden Stoner allowed just three hits and four walks while striking out eight in five innings.

Mason Wallin went 4-for-4 with six RBI, including a home run.

Melrose fell to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in district play.

Cimarron game postponed

Logan’s district game Friday at Cimarron was postponed due to wildfires in the area. The game will be rescheduled.
