• Monday — Memorial Day ceremony. VFW Post 2528 will hold a short Memorial Day remembrance at Tucumcari Memorial Park cemetery at 11 a.m.

• May 31 — GROW Session #1 - Resume Express Workshop. Get Ready for Opportunities to Work (GROW) with Mesalands Community College’s career counselor, Patricia Crook. It’s important to know recruiters spend an average of 7.4 seconds scanning a resume before they decide on the next step. In this Express 30 minute workshop via Google Meet, the session will review strategies and provide time and guidance to effectively format and tailor a resume to help a job-seeker stand out and get an interview. This session will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. To RSVP for this event, please email [email protected] by May 26.

• June 3-4 — First Christian Church rummage sale. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. 1704 S. Fourth St., Tucumcari.

• June 4 — Pinata Fiesta. This event at the Tucumcari Convention Center will feature day and night entertainment from a variety of cultures, a children’s area with special activities and a petting zoo, food, vendors, live music and more. The parade will be at 10 a.m., with free activities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission from 7 p.m. to midnight for the bands Str8 Shot and Cuarenta y Cinco will be $10 per person or $15 per couple.

• June 5-11 — Mesalands Iron Pour. The annual Iron Pour returns to Mesalands Community College after a coronavirus hiatus. Dozens of artists from Mesalands and elsewhere will gather to make their creations using molten aluminum. For more information, call (575) 461-4413, ext. 153.

• Aug. 4-7 — Tucumcari Rattler Reunion. This annual event for all Rattler alumni primarily will take place at the Tucumcari Convention Center. More details will be announced later at rattlerreunion.com. Those with questions should email [email protected].
