Tucumcari museums to be part of scavenger hunt

Quay County On the Move is inviting residents to spend an afternoon exploring Tucumcari’s four museums from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 as part of a scavenger hunt with prizes offered.

Participating are the New Mexico Route 66 Museum at 1500 W. Route 66 in the back of the Tucumcari Convention Center, Tucumcari Railroad Museum at 101 E. Railroad Ave., Tucumcari Historical Museum at 416 S. Adams St. and Mesalands Dinosaur Museum at 222 E. Laughlin Ave.

Upon arrival at one of the museums, participants should stop by the Quay County On The Move table, register and pick up a scavenger hunt form.

After the hunt is completed, participants should check in at the table and receive a prize, then travel on to another museum. Once one registers at one museum, the scavenger hunt form can be shown at the other museums without signing in.

The event is hosted by the Quay County Health Council’s Healthy Eating Active Living Committee and funded by Presbyterian Health Care Services. For more information on the event, call the Health Council at (575) 815-4575.
