Dora sweeps doubleheader from Logan girls

The Logan girls softball team took it on the chin during its season-opening doubleheader Friday, losing at Dora by scores of 17-6 and 17-2.

In the first game, Logan pitcher Charli Fuller struck out six and went 1-for-2 at the plate with a double and two walks.

Bella Coronado went 2-for-3 with a double and walk and scored a run.

“We played good defense in the first game, minus one half-inning,” Logan coach Dustin Robertson said. “A couple of throwing errors turned into a big inning that we were trying to avoid. It was too much to overcome.”

In the second game, Fuller pitched again for Logan. She struck out three and went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored.

“I gave several younger girls a chance to get some experience,” Robertson said of the second game. “They learned some valuable lessons and got a little experience. I expect great things from all of those younger girls.”

Dora improved to 2-2 on the season.
