Tucumcari senior makes all-district

Khobie Salvador, a senior offensive and defense tackle, was the lone Tucumcari Rattler named to the first team of the Class 3A-4 football selections this week.

Salvador also played some fullback during Tucumcari's season.

The Rattlers finished 1-9 overall and 0-3 in the district, which included Hope Christian, Dexter and district champ New Mexico Military Institute. NMMI fell to St. Michael's 34-14 in the state quarterfinals.

Rattlers who made the second team in the district were senior quarterback and defensive end Andrew Henderson-Clark, senior offensive guard and linebacker Reyes Garcia, senior center Nathan Aragon, junior offensive tackle Adrian Villegas, tight end Johnathan Blea and sophomore running back Antonio Gonzales.

Honorable mentions for Tucumcari were junior linebacker Xzander Garcia, senior wide receiver Nathan Griego, junior cornerback Santiago Montano, junior running back Jordan Pena, juniors defensive end Dezmon Pacheco, senior safety Ricardo Martinez, freshman fullback Jordan Rincones, eighth-grade running back Daymion Urioste and senior running back Charles Prieto.
