• Friday — Veterans Day ceremony. Officers with VFW Post 2528 will hold a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park at Railroad Avenue and Main Street in Tucumcari. The post at 105 E. Main St. will host a lunch afterward.

• Saturday — Veterans appreciation breakfast. All veterans are invited, and this event is open to the public from 7 to 9 a.m. No charge to veterans. Spouse and guests are $5 per person. Sponsored by Tucumcari Elks Lodge 1172 and Tucumcari Daughters of the American Revolution. 2118 S. Adams St. at the Elks Lodge.

• Sunday — Veterans Remembrance Service. 1:30 p.m. at Elks Lodge 1172, 2118 S. Adams St. Open to the public. The event will honor all who have served in the U.S. armed forces. A special tribute to all branches of the military will be performed by the Quay County Community Choir.

• Dec. 3 — Glow on 66 Christmas Light Parade. The annual parade on Second Street and Route 66 will include a $500 prize for best float. Those who wish to enter should call (575) 404-6480, (575) 461-1694 or email [email protected].

• Dec. 9-10 — Christmas Carriage Rides. Tucumcari Rawhide Days is presenting this event with dinner, music and horse-drawn carriage rides through downtown Tucumcari. Tickets will be on sale soon.
