• Friday — “The Hauntings of Alex Street: A History Alive Tour.” The $20 tickets for this walking tour at 6 p.m. at the Tucumcari Railroad Museum includes a snack and a ticket for a screening of “Killers of the Flower Moon” at the Odeon Theatre. Alex Street, a former Quay County sheriff and a founding father of Tucumcari, was a key investigator in the Osage murders in Oklahoma. For more, go to tucumcarimainstreet.org/walks.

• Saturday — Altrusa International of Tucumcari’s Boo Bash Cash Party. This event will include a costume contest, a dance with Bakersfield Twang and a $15,000 grand-prize cash drawing. Tickets are $100, and only 300 will be sold. Call Ellen at (575) 403-6179 or Sylvia at (575) 403-8405 for tickets. Doors open at the Elks Lodge at 6 p.m., with the dance at 8 p.m. Ticket sales will benefit Altrusa’s community projects.

• Oct. 28 — Spooktacular Block Party. Tucumcari MainStreet is planning a downtown Halloween-themed block party with trick-or-treat booths, food trucks and games from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will be on South Second Street from Main to Aber streets.

• Oct. 28 — Pumpkin Crawl and Carving Contest. The Tucumcari Historical Museum and the Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce are hosting this event, with cash prizes, starting at 7 p.m. Participants can choose from a range of categories, including Tiny Terrors (age 0-5), Junior Jack-O’Lanterns (6-12), Teenage Terrors (13-17), and Adult Artists (18 and over). The contest also will offer creative categories such as Classic Carvings, Pop Culture Pumpkins nd Out of the Gourd Thinking. Special awards include The Grand Goblin Gourd, The Great Pumpkin King Crown, The People’s Pumpkin and Pumpkin’s Pick of Popularity.
