Calendar - April 10

Sunday — Candidates forum and dessert auction. The Wranglers 4-H club is hosting a forum for local primary election candidates, where each will have three minutes to speak, at the Quay County Fairground exposition hall. The event, which includes a dessert auction, begins at 2 p.m.

April 16 — Culpepper & Merriweather Circus. The circus is coming to town for shows at 5 and 7:30 p.m. at Mesalands Community College. The event is sponsored by the Tucumcari Historical Research Institute and Tucumcari Historical Museum. Tickets, which are $13 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and children age 2 to 12, are available at the museum from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays.

April 26-27 — Tucumcari Film Festival. The annual event, themed “Visions of Frontier,” will feature films of adventure, drama and high stakes. For more information, go to filmfreeway.com/tucumcarifilmfest.

May 4 — Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Peter Vigil and the All-Star Band and Colorado Allstarz will perform at the Tucumcari Convention Center from 8 p.m. to midnight. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets for this 21-and-older event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Mesalands Community College and the Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce.

June 14-16 — Tucumcari Rawhide Days. The event at the Quay County Fairgrounds will feature a gun show, junior ranch rodeo, junior livestock show and other western competitions and attractions. More details will be announced later.

Aug. 1-4 — Rattler Reunion. This annual event will include a parade, picnics and the Saturday night banquet. For more information, go to rattlerreunion.com.
