In a final tune-up before their district meet, the Logan girls team finished runner-up in the 13-team Wolverine Invitational last Tuesday at Texico.
The Lady Longhorns scored 85 1/2 points, behind host Texico and its 127 1/2 points.
Tucumcari’s girls finished ninth with 16 points. The San Jon girls scored eight points for 12th place.
Logan’s Kaylee Williams won the 100-meter dash (0:13.20) and the triple jump (34-9), then finished second in the 200-meter dash (0:27.65).
Teammate Makinlee Judd won the 300-meter hurdles (0:51.53) and finished sixth in the pole vault (7-6).
The Lady Longhorns also won the 400-meter (0:52.35) and 800-meter relays (1:51.58).
Other Lady Longhorns who scored team points:
— Sarah Williams, fourth, 100-meter dash (0:14.06), fourth, 400-meter dash (1:05.68) and fifth, triple jump (28-0);
— Abby Paris, second, discus (91-3 1/2);
— Hayle Bidegain, fifth, 800-meter run (2:48.11);
— Sadie Bruhn, second, 1,600-meter run (6:40.92);
— Kyle Terry, third, 1,600-meter run (6:47.68);
— 1,600-meter relay team, fourth (4:43.49);
— 3,200-meter relay team, third (12:07.83).
For the Tucumcari girls, July Lafferty won the javelin throw with an effort of 109-7 and was second in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.01.
Kirksey Smith of the Lady Rattlers finished fourth in the shot put (29-6 1/2) and sixth in the javelin (89-3).
For San Jon, Reyna Sena finished fourth in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 17:20.26. Summer Jennings was sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 7:15.66.
San Jon’s 3,200-meter relay team finished fourth in a time of 13:40.97.
The Tucumcari boys team finished in a tie for fourth with Santa Rosa with 37 points. San Jon finished in 12th with 10 points. Texico’s boys won the team title with 95 points.
Tucumcari’s Alex Bueno De La O won the 3,200-meter race in a time of 11:08.29, beating runner-up teammate Fernando Ureste by more than a minute.
Ureste won the 1,600-meter run in 5:00.69. Bueno De La O was runner-up in that event in 5:09.14.

— Jordan Rincones, fifth, shot put (37-8), and fifth, discus (105-9 1/2);

— 800-meter relay team, sixth (1:43.98).
San Jon’s Isidro Martinez finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (0:47.50), fifth in the 200-meter dash (0:24.83), sixth in the long jump (17-2 1/2) and third in the pole vault (10-0).
