    Quay County restaurants can host indoor dining again after weeks of restrictions from a surge of coronavirus cases in the late fall. The county entered the yellow designation of the state’s “Red to Green” reopening plan for the first time Wednesday afternoon, when data was released by the state. The state, beginning Nov. 30, evaluated counties on two-week periods based on whether they met the metrics of 8 daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents and test positivity of 5% or lower.   • Improvements for wells approved

    Grants were approved Wednesday at a special session of the City Commission from the Water Trust Board for improvements of three water wells at five mile park. For infrastructure improvements and upgrades, Resolution 2012-43, the city was awarded $50,000 with the city budgeting its 10 percent share of $5,000 for upgrades to the east end of Tucumcari. Some 1,500 feet of bad sewer line will be repaired in this project....

    The Quay County Extension Service and Mesalands Community College will offer the Strong Seniors Stay Young Program, an exercise program for middle-aged and older men and women in Tucumcari, starting Aug. 28.
