County clerk warns of offers for property deeds, profiles

Residents are urged to be on the lookout for offers involving property deeds or profiles, according to Quay County Clerk Ellen White.

White said residents have contacted her office about a letter they received, offering a copy of their current property deed or profile by sending them $85. White said the service is offered at the clerk's office for $1.

She said if any residents have any questions regarding their deed or property profile they can contact the County Clerks Office at 461-0510.

Tucumcari Police Chief Jason Braziel said any mail requesting money should be an immediate red flag. He said anyone who receives a letter that seems suspicious can bring that letter in to the Police Department for officers to look over.

Assistant District Attorney Tim Rose could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
