Rattlers look to stay perfect on season - 8 Man - 6 Man

The Tucumcari Rattlers will be on the road again when they match up with the Dexter Demons at Dexter, and hope to improve to 4-0.

"We can not afford to make the same mistakes or have as many turnovers against a team like the Demons," said Rattlers head coach Wayne Ferguson.

Last week, the Rattlers won 55-6 against the West Las Vegas Dons in Las Vegas. The Rattlers were able to take advantage of numerous Dons turnovers.

Ferguson said the Demons are 1-2 on the season, but should not be taken lightly. He also noted their losses are to 2A powers Texico and Tularosa.

To date, the Rattlers offense has produced 840 yards of total offense.

Demons head coach Frank Sandoval was not immediately available for comment.

8 Man

The Logan Longhorns (2-1) have another tough road game as they travel to Carrizozo to play the second ranked Grizzlies, one week after falling 40-24 to the first ranked Gateway Christian.

"We know they are going to be physical," said Kene Terry, Longhorns head coach.

Terry said the team needs to step up against the Grizzlies and work to Finnish out the game Friday night.

Terry said simply the team needs to finish plays, play four quarters and not relax once they get ahead or get discouraged when down. He said Friday against Gateway, the team had the Warriors right where they wanted, but a few miscues quickly put the team out of sync and struggling to get back in to the game.

"We have to put that behind us and continue to work hard," Terry said. "Each game is getting us ready for district."

Grizzlies head coach Kevin Sheehan was not immediately available for comment.

6 Man

The San Jon Coyotes will not be in action this week, following a 60-48 win over the Hondo Eagles Friday at Hondo.

The Coyotes (2-0) play again 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at Dora.
