City manager receives honor

Tucumcari City Manager Doug Powers was presented the Joe Guillen Award on Oct. 25 at an Infrastructure Finance Conference in Taos.

The award recognizes individuals who have had a long term impact in their community.

Powers said the award is a great honor for him.

"It is nice for Tucumcari to finally be recognized," Powers said.

City Commissioner Robert Lumpkin said Powers is always trying to be ahead of the times and is striving for the future of Tucumcari.
