Three area teams playing for district championship

Three Quay County high school basketball teams are set to play for a district championship.

The (11-16) (3-4) Tucumcari Lady Rattlers will play at 6 p.m., Friday against the (18-7) (6-0) Lady Wolverines for the district 4 2A championship at Texico. The Lady Rattlers advanced to the championship game by beating the (14-13) (4-3) Lady Yellowjackets 51-49 Wednesday night at Clayton.

The (16-10) (2-2) Logan Longhorns will play at 6 p.m., Friday against the (17-8) (4-0) Foxes for the district 3 1 A championship at Fort Sumner. The Longhorns advanced to the championship game by beating the (6-20) (0-4) Buffaloes 69-46 Wednesday night at Logan.

The (18-7) (2-2) Logan Lady Longhorns will play at 2 p.m., Saturday against the (13-14) (3-2) Lady Buffaloes for the district 3 1A championship at Melrose. The Lady Longhorns advanced to the championship game by beating the (16-11) (2-3) Vixens 47-36 Thursday night at Fort Sumner.

The (12-12) (2-5) Tucumcari Rattlers are awaiting the state seeding following a 46-41 loss Tuesday night to the (17-11) (2-5) Clayton Yellowjackets.
