Terry Turner building could reopen next week

The Terry Turner building, home to the Quay County Extension Office, could be reopening next week.

On Jan. 7, fire in the building damaged a small room and the back of the facility. A restoration crew cleaned up smoke and water damage, replacing ceiling tiles and carpet and painted the walls.

County Manager Richard Primrose said he was pleased with the good work by the crew. He said the county is still waiting on getting telephones and Internet service back in operation.

Primose and that the restoration crew told them that the Extension Office would be ready to move back in by the end of February.

Brenda Bishop with the extension office said she still needed to go through a few bags of things that were burned in the fire to see what could be salvaged. She said everyone is excited to get back in their building and resume business as usual.
