Rix alarm services sold

Rix Security Service of Tucumcari has sold its RixSecurity Burglar Alarms unit to Alpha Alarm of Albuquerque.

Alpha Alarm is a New Mexico-based alarm company started in 2008 by two young entrepreneurs, Troy Brown and Carl Baker. Alpha has over 6,500 alarm customers and monitors alarms in New Mexico, West Texas and southern Colorado, according to a news release from Rix Security.

Chris Carl, an employee of Rix Security for the past eight years, will be the service technician for Alpha as he has been for Rix, The news release said, and will continue to live in Tucumcari.

Richard and Susan Taylor, Rix’s owners, said they will continue to provide locksmithing sales and service from Rix’s storefront at 105 S. First St., Tucumcari, as they have for 35 years.
