Staff Report
The Tucumcari Lady Rattlers varsity cross country team and two varsity boys team members will compete Saturday in the 3A cross country State championship.
The Lady Rattler placed third overall as a team at the district 5-6 3A meet on Nov. 27 at Cuba.
"Rain and mud made it a very difficult run for the cross country teams at Cuba," said Gary Hittson, cross country coach.
Hittson said the mud would cake up on the runners' shoes and one portion of the track had a slippery hillside due to the mud. He said the runners' times were down but they still ran strong.
